Chapters: How I Chose to Arrive at My Weekend (Chapter 2)
Every book has turning points. For me, Friday became one of them. I stopped treating it like an exhausted finish line and started seeing it as the gateway to my weekend—a chapter of its own.
Here’s how I chose to arrive at my weekend—and how you can too:
1. I chose to honor my wins. I refused to let the week slip by unnoticed. Instead of racing to the weekend, I paused and wrote down the things I accomplished, the mountains I climbed—whether anyone else saw them or not.
2. I chose to release the noise. The week wanted to follow me. Deadlines. Emails. Lingering conversations. I chose to close the door on them. A weekend is not a junk drawer for unfinished business—it’s a sanctuary.
3. I chose to create joy on purpose. Joy doesn’t just happen—it’s curated. I picked up the phone. I played the music. I leaned into the people and places that spark life inside me. You can do the same.
4. I chose to nurture my truth. My story is not background noise—it’s the main narrative. I journal, reflect, or simply breathe into gratitude. That’s where clarity lives. That’s where purpose grows.
5. I chose to rest like it matters. Rest isn’t the absence of effort. It’s the preparation for what’s next. By choosing rest, I gave tomorrow the gift of my best self.
So here we are: Friday. A reminder that your weekend is not a break from life—it’s part of it. Treat it as sacred. Arrive with intention. Live it with purpose.
Because how you arrive shapes everything that follows.
