America, we need to wake up. While our government slashes vital programs that keep struggling families afloat—food assistance, housing support, senior care—corporate giants like Tesla and SpaceX are feasting on billions in taxpayer dollars. And the biggest beneficiary? None other than Elon Musk, the man who loves to criticize government spending but has built his empire on corporate welfare.

It’s time to call it what it is. Corporate welfare benefits. And while Musk gets richer, everyday Americans get left behind.

Billions for Tesla, Nothing for You

Tesla did not rise to power on innovation alone. It was propped up by government money—your money. Let’s break it down:

  • $465 million loan from the Department of Energy (2010) – Tesla received a massive federal loan at a low-interest rate to develop its electric vehicles.

  • $3.4 billion in federal tax credits – Tesla customers have enjoyed these incentives, making electric cars more affordable and boosting Musk’s sales.

  • $10.7 billion from regulatory credits – Other car companies buy these credits from Tesla to comply with environmental laws, lining Musk’s pockets thanks to government mandates.

And that’s just Tesla. SpaceX? Another cash cow, fueled by federal dollars.

  • $20.7 billion in government contracts – NASA and the Pentagon have paid billions to Musk’s space venture, making it a leading player in aerospace—thanks to taxpayer funding.

  • $5.6 billion from the Department of Defense – SpaceX launches classified satellites for the military, raking in contracts while Musk publicly mocks government involvement in business.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t just a billionaire winning in the free market. This is government-backed, taxpayer-funded success. The same government that is slashing benefits for families in need.

Cutting Social Programs While Feeding the Billionaire Class

Musk has repeatedly railed against government handouts. He’s worried about the deficit. He warns that federal spending is out of control. And yet, his companies keep cashing in.

Meanwhile, essential programs for working Americans are being gutted:

  • Food assistance programs like SNAP (food stamps) face constant threats of budget cuts, leaving families wondering where their next meal will come from.

  • Housing assistance programs are being slashed, making it harder for low-income families to afford a roof over their heads.

  • Medicare and Medicaid—lifelines for millions—are under attack while billionaires pay less in taxes and their corporations rake in government contracts.

This isn’t about the deficit. This is about priorities. The government is choosing to give billion-dollar corporations a free ride while telling struggling Americans to “tighten their belts.”

Corporate Welfare vs. Social Welfare: The Ultimate Hypocrisy

If a single mother needs food stamps to feed her kids, she’s labeled a “burden on the system.” If an elderly couple relies on Medicaid for healthcare, politicians claim it’s “unsustainable.”

But when Elon Musk takes billions in government assistance? That’s called “innovation.”

The hypocrisy is staggering. Musk built Tesla and SpaceX on the back of government funding. Yet, when it comes to supporting the people who actually make this country run—teachers, nurses, service workers, seniors, and low-income families—the message is always the same: there’s not enough money.

America, We Deserve Better

At what point do we say enough is enough? How long will Americans accept their hard-earned tax dollars being funneled into the pockets of the ultra-rich while their own communities suffer?

It’s time to challenge this system. Demand accountability. Demand that if our government can afford to hand billions to corporations, it can afford to take care of its people.

Elon Musk doesn’t need another dollar of corporate welfare. But millions of Americans need food, housing, and healthcare.

America, it’s time to put people first.
