You ever feel like you walk into a room and someone’s already made up their mind about you?
Before you even speak. Before you sit. Before you breathe too loudly.
They’ve already built your story, assigned your flaws, priced your worth, and prepared your limitations. All based on what? Your hairstyle? Your playlist? Your skin? Your confidence?
We are not living in 1992 anymore—yet prejudice still walks into meetings before we do. And it’s time we call it out.
Not for performance. Not for claps. But for clarity.
Let’s get something straight: Identity is not a costume.
Wearing designer labels doesn’t mean someone’s financially irresponsible. Speaking with confidence doesn't mean someone’s angry. Dating outside your race doesn't make you disloyal. Loving your culture doesn’t mean you hate another.
These shallow assumptions? They’re leftovers from someone else’s fear.
And too many of us are still eating from that expired menu.
This isn't just about racism. It’s about assumption. Period.
You see a Black woman in stilettos—do you label her before you learn her name? You hear an accent—do you already question their intelligence? You watch someone use EBT at the grocery store—do you instantly judge their work ethic?
Every unconscious thought you don't challenge becomes someone else’s chain.
You want real freedom? You better earn it at the level of thought.
Because before you can “understand” someone, you gotta see them. Really see them. Not just decode their clothes, background, tone, or bank balance.
We keep asking the world to change, but how often do we audit our own biases?
We’ve been taught to mistrust what we don’t understand. Taught that “different” equals “danger.” Taught to reduce people to headlines and hashtags.
But here’s the hard truth:
You can’t fix what you keep filtering.
So here’s the challenge: Free your mind.
Not just from racism. From classism. From gender norms. From beauty standards. From every lie that was fed to you and now lives in your assumptions.
Free your mind from the idea that struggle looks one way. That success has one tone. That excellence is defined by proximity to whiteness, maleness, straightness, thinness.
Free your mind, and the rest will follow.
Not because it’s easy.
But because anything less is a betrayal of your own potential.
We are not shallow people. But we’ve been swimming in shallow systems.
Time to go deep. Deep into truth. Deep into empathy. Deep into freedom that doesn’t ask permission or perform for approval.
