I came here to survive. Not in a dramatic, end-of-the-world kind of way—but in the real way. The kind where you're figuring things out day by day, searching for purpose, connection, and maybe just one person who understands what you’re going through.
For me, LinkedIn became more than a professional network. It became my journal. My therapy. My mirror.
I started sharing pieces of my journey— Job searches that led to closed doors. Days filled with clarity and confidence. Other days that felt like walking in circles, lost in the fog.
But I kept writing. Because I didn’t want to pretend. Because I needed to be real. Because someone out there might be scrolling through their own mess, looking for a sign that they’re not alone.
That’s my “why.” This space isn’t a highlight reel—it’s a timeline of the truth.
Some days, I pour gratitude into the page. Other days, it’s frustration, or deep contemplation, or just a note that says, “Today wasn’t great.” And that’s okay.
What lights me up most? Creating newsletters. Sharing my voice. Exploring ideas out loud.
From customer service insights, to AI challenges, to questions about our political climate—I write what I’m wrestling with. And every time someone messages me, “I’ve been thinking the same thing,” I’m reminded… we’re more connected than we realize.
There are moments where I’ve gone silent. Not because I gave up—but because I felt empty. Overwhelmed. Tired. But when the creativity returns? It comes back like a tidal wave. Five articles in a row—truth pouring out like it was waiting the whole time.
Then there’s the podcast. Totally outside my comfort zone.
It’s one thing to write… it’s another to show your face. Your voice. Your unfiltered self. And the hardest part? What if they don’t like me? That fear of rejection—of being “too much” or “not enough”—almost stopped me.
But I did it anyway. And I do it every time I hit record.
No script. No lighting anxiety. No concern about who will or won’t show up.
I let it go. Because this is for me. To grow. To be free. To say, “I showed up for myself today.”
And the most surprising gift? The people.
I’ve met some truly incredible souls: Gregory Spiller "The Digital Diogenes" Louis Katz Lynnaire Johnston Stu Lees Ross Quintana Cher Forgeson Kenneth Dunner, Jr. Jeremy Burdick Narcisse "Nikki" Taplin Gabby H. Martha Lobos Amaya Felipe Cofiño Jordan Murphy 🧠🦍
…And more names than I could ever fit in one post.
I’ve even reconnected with cousins I didn’t know. All because I chose to be real.
This is what LinkedIn can be when we stop trying to impress and start trying to connect.
So if you’re here reading this, feeling like maybe your story doesn’t matter—let me tell you something:
It does.
If one post, one comment, one podcast helps someone feel seen, then I’ve done my part. And I hope you feel seen right now.
Let’s keep showing up—for ourselves, and for each other. Let’s like. Let’s comment. Let’s repost. Let’s tell the world: “I see you.”
Because it was never about me. It’s not even about you. It’s about us.
Have a beautiful Thursday. Stay present. Stay human. Stay bold.
Thanks for reading,
William Rochelle, but you can call me Bill
