BRILLIANCE OF THE MIND This Sunday at 4:00 PM Eastern on YOU BE YOU LIVE, we are opening the door to a real conversation about autism that is rooted in respect, curiosity, and truth. Not a struggle story. A clarity story. A humanity story.
WHY THIS CONVERSATION MATTERS Autism is a spectrum, which means there is no single look, no single experience, and no one size fits all definition of brilliance. Some strengths are loud. Some are quiet. Some are misunderstood until the right environment makes them visible. That is what we are here to talk about.
We are also talking about timing. Early recognition can help families access tools and support sooner. Later recognition can still be life changing, especially when it finally gives people language for what they have been living. Either way, the goal is the same: more dignity, more understanding, and more support that actually fits the person.
WHY I ASKED JOEL FELSENSTEIN TO JOIN US I wanted someone on stage who does not just speak about autism from the outside, but from lived experience, with the ability to translate it for people who genuinely want to understand.
Joel Felsenstein is autistic and neurodivergent. He is a musician, songwriter, advocate, and a powerful speaker who brings both truth and calm to a conversation that deserves to be handled with care. He also carries something that cannot be taught. Perspective.
He is not here to speak over anyone. He is here to help guide the conversation so it stays accurate, respectful, and actually useful.
PHOEBE IS BRINGING THE HEART OF THE STORY Phoebe (Dr. Natalie Williams-McMahon) is a mother raising a child with autism, and she is coming with lived truth, love, and the kind of perspective that cannot be learned from a brochure. She is doing this to expand understanding, highlight the diversity inside the spectrum, and give caregivers a voice that feels seen instead of analyzed.
WHAT WE ARE EXPLORING LIVE We are going to talk about the brilliance across the spectrum, and how the same trait can be a superpower in one environment and a struggle in another.
We are going to talk about early recognition versus later recognition, and what the right support can unlock at any stage.
We are going to talk about caregivers. Not as a footnote. Not as background noise. As human beings who carry love, logistics, advocacy, exhaustion, and pride all at once.
We are going to talk about what it looks like to build a world where different is not managed. It is respected.
