Lately, I feel like I’m watching a real-life James Bond or Austin Powers movie—where the ultra-rich tech genius has his hands on critical systems and, with a villainous smirk, proclaims, “I’m going to take over the world! Ha ha ha ha ha!”

Except this isn’t fiction, the explosions aren’t CGI, and the villain isn’t a caricature in a high-backed leather chair. No, this isn’t Hollywood

Elon Musk and the U.S. Treasury: A Troubling Reality

Let’s talk about something that isn’t making nearly enough headlines: Elon Musk’s access to the U.S. Treasury Department’s systems. That’s two trillion dollars moving through the American financial system every single day. Now, reports are surfacing that his team—unelected, unchecked—is cutting off access to federal government computers.

That sounds less like innovation and more like infiltration.

What happens if his “engineering digital data guys” make irreversible changes? If federal agencies are being locked out of their own systems, who is really in control? And more importantly—who is stopping this from spiraling?

The Global Fallout: Losing Allies, Rising Costs, and Uncertain Safety

It’s not just an internal issue. Other countries are noticing, and they’re not impressed. I’ve seen videos of foreign crowds booing the American anthem. Our standing in the world is shifting—and not for the better.

Meanwhile, at home, prices are rising, tariffs are being sold as a “win,” and many don’t even know what tariffs actually do. They’re not just extra fees—they’re economic barriers that increase costs for all of us. That’s more money coming out of our pockets, and I’m struggling to see how any of this benefits we the people.

The last 11 days have been disorienting, and not in a good way. I’m not just worried about myself—I’m worried about all of us.

Who’s Going to Pump the Brakes?

If things go off the rails—not politically left or right, just off the rails—who is in a position to stop it? Who is stepping in to say, “This is too much, too fast, too reckless”?

I’m already questioning basic things, like:

  • Is it safe to fly right now?

  • Are we making enemies we didn’t need to make?

  • Are we structurally stable enough to withstand these rapid changes?

This Is Not a Reality Show—This Is Our Country.

America is not a spectacle for billionaires to manipulate. This is our home, our future, and our collective responsibility. The months ahead will be challenging—not just economically, but for families, for our global reputation, and for our safety.

But if there’s one thing I believe in, it’s us.

If we unite, if we stay informed, if we push back when necessary, we can make it through. This isn’t entertainment. It’s not a simulation. This is the United States of America.

And yes, I’m concerned.

Sincerely, Citizen A.
