This week on YOU-BE-YOU LIVE, you may have noticed a theme.
On Sunday, Martin Stark kicked us off with raw courage and resilience. On Tuesday, Lynnaire Johnston carried the torch with the power of visibility and connection. And this Sunday, September 28th at 5 p.m. Eastern, I’ll be live with Gina Balarin—an extraordinary communicator who has already blown me away in our conversations.
These incredible people are all part of my LinkAbility network, led by the incomparable Lynnaire Johnston. And I’ve got to say this plainly: every single one of us has the potential to be great. But greatness doesn’t come from pretending we know it all. It comes from seeking the right guidance, at the right time, from the right experts.
I’ve always been a supporter of therapy—I even talked about that with Jackie Hallberg this past Monday. Every one of us has scars, triggers, or moments we need help processing. Therapy helps us let go. But this week was different. This week was about stepping into the professional arena and admitting where I was out of my comfort zone.
So, I reached out to my LinkAbility family. And the hands went up: “I’ll talk to you. Do you have time after the show?” That’s the gift of community. That’s the gift of knowing you don’t have to face the hard stuff alone.
If you’ve ever found yourself on the other side of the recruitment desk—as the candidate, not the hiring manager—you know the tension that comes with it. Most of us aren’t serial interviewers. We don’t do this every month, or every year. For many of us, it’s once every five years… maybe less. Because when we commit, we commit. We stay, we build, we transform businesses from the inside out.
But every so often, we’re back at the table. And that’s when we need people like Gina Balarin.
Gina is the founder of Verballistics, a TEDx speaker, a Chartered Marketer, and the CEO’s Voice. She takes leaders—from CFOs and CTOs to COOs and CEOs—and helps them find the clarity, presence, and authentic voice they need to command the room.
Her philosophy is simple but game-changing: facts tell, but stories sell. And she’s mastered the art of turning leaders into storytellers, of helping technical brilliance transform into human connection, of taking people from “good” to “extraordinary.”
She’s coached executives across continents, written books on leadership and communication, and built workshops that ignite confidence. But what stood out most to me wasn’t her credentials—it was her ability to spot the brilliance hiding just below the surface, and bring it to light.
This Sunday, she’s going to bring that same spark to YOU-BE-YOU LIVE. And I can say this with confidence: you’re going to walk away changed.
The Bigger Picture
When I look at Martin Stark, Lynnaire Johnston, Gina Balarin, and so many others in the LinkAbility network, I see proof that the smartest move you can make as a leader is to admit when you’re out of your comfort zone—and ask for help.
Because asking is not weakness. It’s the very thing that opens the door to growth.
So join me this Sunday, September 28th, at 5 p.m. Eastern, when Gina Balarin takes the stage. I’ll be live, I’ll be listening, and I’ll be learning right alongside you.
And speaking of courage and growth, let me close with gratitude to Martin Stark—The Courage Champion—who started us off this week. His story of resilience, his fight to create inclusivity in sports, and his work helping leaders accelerate their own courage is a reminder that greatness comes not from avoiding the hard hits, but from standing back up and throwing the right hook.
This week is about courage. It’s about communication. And it’s about connection. Don’t miss it.
Thanks for reading,
William Rochelle, but you can call me Bill
