Spoiler Alert: I’m not going to give you the answer. LOL. But genuinely, do you ever question your why?

This is an amazing assignment and requires an intentional need for self-awareness. So, when I ask, "What’s your why?" For me, it means: Why do you get up in the morning and head to a job where you're just a number? Why do you get up in the morning excited and ready to do better than you did the previous day? Why does that one person in the office get on your last nerve? Why do you tend to be a people pleaser, yet your needs go unattended?

Why have you managed to stay in a 30-year relationship with your spouse? Why do you care who marries whom? Why have you been a full-time student for the past 20 years? Why are you a giver? Why do you give to those who are worthy of your energy? Why are you an optimist? Why are you a pessimist? Why do you work 12-hour days, seven days a week, when everyone else does the bare minimum?

Why do you feel other people’s pain? Why could you care less about those around you? Why have you exceeded your own expectations? Why have you given up on your dreams?

Once you take the time to understand your why, you can intentionally continue down that path or change course. Understanding why you react, behave, and attract certain energy into your life is key.

Imagine waking up tomorrow and knowing exactly why you do what you do. Every step you take, every decision you make is driven by a clear purpose. Think about how empowering that would be. Suddenly, the mundane becomes meaningful. The annoying coworker becomes a minor blip in your grand scheme. The long hours don’t feel as draining because you’re working towards something bigger than yourself.

This is more than just a motivational speech; it’s a call to action. Take a moment, maybe right now, and reflect. Start small. Ask yourself why you chose to read this article. Was it curiosity? A search for motivation? A procrastination tactic? Whatever the reason, let that be your starting point. Dig deeper.

As you peel back the layers of your actions and choices, you’ll start to see patterns. You’ll uncover truths about yourself that you might have overlooked in the rush of everyday life. And with those truths, you can forge a path that is authentically yours.

So, what’s your why? I can’t answer that for you, but I can challenge you to find it. Embrace the journey of self-discovery with an open heart and mind. It’s not always easy, and it’s definitely not always comfortable, but it’s worth it.

In the end, your why is the anchor in the storm, the compass guiding you through uncharted waters. It’s the reason you persevere, the fire that keeps you warm when the world feels cold. It’s uniquely yours, and once you find it, hold on tight and let it lead you to the life you were meant to live.
