Sometimes you wake up with your whole day mapped out like a neatly typed script. You know the role, the lines, the stage directions. And then—life laughs, the universe nudges, Spirit whispers—and suddenly you’re off-script. Not stumbling, not lost, but flowing.
That’s exactly what happened to me yesterday. I had a live podcast scheduled with my brother Curtis Brooks. The plan was set: a leadership conversation. But the second we went live, the atmosphere shifted. The connection wasn’t just good—it was electric. The spirit in the room was undeniable, the vibe was thick enough to touch, and the engagement was like lightning cracking through the air.
We didn’t follow the description. We followed the Spirit.
At the end, I asked Curtis, “What could we have done better?” He said, “Maybe we should’ve stayed more aligned with the topic.” He’s right—we will redo that talk. But let me tell you this: yesterday wasn’t a mistake. It was divine timing.
Somebody—maybe you, maybe a stranger who needed it—was supposed to hear what flowed in that moment. The conversation wasn’t heavy; it felt guided. It wasn’t forced; it was freedom. It wasn’t planned; it was perfect.
I’ve learned in life that yes, you make a plan. But there is always a greater plan. And when you surrender to it, you find yourself carried instead of climbing, walking instead of dragging, flying instead of falling.
To those who tuned in expecting one thing and got another—I honor you. I don’t apologize for the conversation, because it was raw, bold, spiritual, and full of light. Somebody needed that exact message. Somebody felt seen. Somebody realized they weren’t alone.
And that’s the power of authenticity. It isn’t something you manufacture. It’s something you release. It’s the you that was already inside, unpolished, unfiltered, unapologetic. And when you let that out, when you trust that flow—you rise. And when you rise, everyone around you gets lifted too.
So here’s my truth: I will always bring my authentic self. I will always lean into the Spirit. I will always trust that the detours are divine.
Yesterday was one of the best shows I’ve ever done. If you haven’t seen it, watch the replay. If you have, carry the energy with you. And don’t miss the next one—September 7th with the powerful Bambi Lynn Markowski.
Because sometimes the greatest plan is not ours—it’s the one written above us, written for us, written with love.
Stay open. Stay real. Stay you.
And always remember: it’s okay to be you.
