FACT OR FICTION: Is There Really a “Best” Time to Job Hunt?

Here’s the truth no one tells you:

September and October are prime time. Recruiters are in overdrive trying to close out roles before Q4 wraps. Budgets are on the line, hiring managers need wins, and urgency is your best friend. This is when you go all in. Cover letters sharp, intentions clear, follow-ups locked. Don’t just apply—make them remember your name.

November and December are dead zones. That’s the biggest myth in the game. Yes, holidays slow things down. But jobs still need filling. Budgets still exist. And while everyone else checks out and waits for January? You stand out. Because fewer applicants means your resume gets a longer look.

January resets the board. First week can be slow, but mid-month? Hiring explodes. Companies charge into the year with fresh budgets and bold goals. And you want to already be in their pipeline, not scrambling to catch up.

Here’s my motto: If the job feels right, apply. Period. Don’t wait for the “perfect season.” Don’t buy into excuses. Opportunity doesn’t care about calendars—it cares about whether you showed up ready.

I don’t just peek through one window. I knock on every door. I follow every lead. And if the door doesn’t open? I kick the hinges clean off.

So, fact or fiction? Fact: September–October is hot. Fiction: November–December is dead. Reality: The best time to apply is when you decide you’re ready.

That’s the difference between waiting for luck and creating it.

Mic drop.
