I just hit my first 100 subscribers on Substack. Yeah, it surprised me how emotional that felt.

Because when you are looking for a job and not hearing back for months sometimes a year your brain starts playing tricks on you. You start wondering if what you are doing matters. If anyone actually cares. If you are still relevant or just shouting into the void.

Here is the truth. I only started going live about eight months ago. I only really started using Substack recently. And I only started pushing Substack seriously this past week once I locked in my regularly scheduled show through January.

Yet here we are: Substack is growing. YouTube is growing. LinkedIn is growing.

Suddenly that quiet voice shows up again and says maybe you still have value.

If you have been job hunting for a year or more and the emails are silent but you look up and realize you built a community while you were waiting that hits different. That is proof of life. Proof of purpose. Proof that momentum does not always come from permission.

So hear this clearly. Do not shrink yourself. Do not let anyone tell you your dreams are too big. Do not abandon your path because it makes someone else uncomfortable.

Trust your gut. Keep building. Keep creating. Keep showing up.

And yes also keep looking for the job because steady income matters and bills do not pay themselves.

Both can be true at the same time.

Forward always wins.

Thank you for being here. Seriously.

William Rochelle, but you can call me Bill
